Posted by Martin in : Home, Leisure , add a commentIt only hit me that we’re in the throes of summer when I looked out of the window to see our pool full of kids.
It’s been getting gradually hotter here but today was the first day I actually noticed the heat becoming uncomfortable. Thank god we’ll be in Japan during the hottest part of the season.

Posted by Martin in : Home , add a commentI love to tease Tik on her ability to fall asleep nearly instantly. Today I managed to catch her asleep after about 10 minutes on the computer.
when she awoke about 5 minutes later her fingers twitched first as if she was still typing.
Robert Makes Us Guacamole December 29, 2008

Our current CouchSurfer treated us to dinner, preparing Creole Guacamole and a Pasta dish with tomato and beef.
Robert stayed 3 nights with us and two of those nights we had a really relaxing time watching movies at home.
Even though Robert is only 21 he was experienced beyond his years and we really enjoyed hearing about his life as a pending snowboarding professional, the event-plannig business he created himself, his experience in his band, his experience working as a chef, his climbing experiences and all the travel he’s done.
Robert’s now escaped our clutches and is spending his next month in Nepal.
Hailey & Tik make Gim-Pap December 17, 2008

Hailey, our CouchSurfing friend from Korea stayed two nights with us and taught us how to make the Korean version of Sushi. She is now in Hanoi teaching children English for a month. One thing We’ll always remember about Hailey is that she brought with her a big pack of balloons to twist into cool shapes for the kids. Whilst here, she made an umbrella and flower for us. Party at Our Place November 4, 2008

As Derek and Delfin were staying with us we decided to have a party. We invited Patrick, P’A, MAsaya, Misma and Patrick’s new employee Sophie.
We got through a lot of drinks, a bit of food and spent much of the night playing Wii games.
We all had a great time and Tik and I felt really proud to be with such great people.
Our party was on a Tuesday – probably not the best night to stay up late but I managed to have a lie-in Wednesday morning when everybody else struggled to get themselves to work.
