Mum and Dad came to Thailand for 16 days.

This is about their fourth trip over here and, sadly neither Tik nor I could afford to take much time from work but we were able to spend three weekends with them. In between weekends we left them in various locations so that they could explore and return to Bangkok in their own time.

For our first weekend we went to Hua Hin and stayed at the fantastic Sofitel Centara Grand Resort by the beach.

The resort itself is beautiful. There’s a lot of greenery, big swimming pools and the buildings themselves are also very contemporary.

We upgraded our rooms to the premium villas on the beachfront. They had the most comfortable bed I’ve ever collapsed into and our own stone spa bath in the back.

The weather was comfortable but this year’s stunted rainy season still caused a few downpours when we’d have liked to have relaxed by the pool. It didn’t stop mum and Tik trying the organized water aerobics though nor did it stop dad and I playing badminton.

This was a relaxing weekend for us. We spent a lot of time making the most of the resort but we did get out to some great restaurants too. On Monday Tik and I reluctantly returned to Bangkok after moving mum and dad to Eva Son resort and having lunch there.
